When people meet Barnaby they are often surprised to learn that he’s a career politician. He’s unassuming and softly-spoken with a devastatingly quick wit. He was always civic-minded as a boy, but became especially active in university when his dormitory failed to install accessible showers. Since then, Barnaby has been a fierce advocate for all members of his community, and has worked tirelessly to enact positive changes - no matter the scale. His latest project is a community-run animal sanctuary that takes in any animal in need. It has been operational for two months, and Barnaby has already adopted a litter of three kittens and their mother, a flightless pigeon and a rabbit. Barnaby’s husband Stewart isn’t as passionate an animal lover as his spouse, but knew this would happen as soon as he learned about the project. Stewart simply shakes his head in feigned annoyance, and pours them both a large glass of Chablis - their favourite - while Barnaby tends to his beloved flock.
