CARLYLE | antique textile collection (sold out)

You can usually find Carlyle behind the gleaming wood counter of his bar, Valentine’s, dressed in his starched white jacket. He is a fastidious and proud proprietor - his nut bowls are always filled with his favourite roasted mix, his taps are polished and all his liquor labels face the same way. To Carlyle, it’s an art. And as soon as one enters Valentine’s, they feel that. The cozy velvet booths are dimly lit with Art Deco sconces, jazz plays softly, the windows are hung with heavy walnut blinds, and the bar is filled with Carlyle’s collection of vintage hotel memorabilia. His most recent acquisition is a set of Frank Lloyd Wright plates from the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. There are only two things Carlyle loves more than his bar; his black labs Roy and Frank who he walks around the reservoir in Central Park twice a day.

Composition: large inset panel of Art Deco hand embroidery, trimmed by vintage green and white Greek key ribbon and surrounded by textured peach velvet, trimmed with rose bullion, with a textured peach velvet reverse. Metal zipper.

Condition Note: the textile showcased in this piece is over fifty years old, and as such, may show minor signs of wear.
