Caulfield is punctual, fastidious, a meticulous dresser and, if he's honest, has the tendency to be a bit huffy. His library is arranged according to the Dewey Decimal system (he has a card catalogue for reference), he plans his week's outfits every Sunday (based on the weather forecast), and he owns an industrial iron, so everything from his tea towels to his dog's sweaters are carefully pressed. Many were surprised that he even adopted a dog as she introduced a chaotic and unpredictable energy that Caulfield typically eschewed. However, his darling Elizabeth has softened him in ways he never thought possible. He leaves engagements early to be home with her, he allows her on his pristine cream sofa, and when she chewed one of his favourite loafers he wasn't even cross. He's really enjoying this new version of himself; it's more fun.
